  1. Roots to Branches is one of their best records, with one wonderful piece after another. The Middle Eastern/East Indian influences are as smoothly integrated as any of Paul Simon's best fusion. If you didn't recognize the belly dance foundation of "Rare and Precious Stones," it would still be a great dance tune. And, of course, sexy/5(80).
  2. Digitally remastered edition of this album. Whereas in the s Jethro Tull had dabbled in Heavy Metal and Modern Rock, Roots To Branches hearkens back to the classic Tull sound, with a lot more of Anderson's flute, making it one of the band's more vintage-sounding offerings during their later era/5(78).

  5. This mid-'90s Tull studio album has its good moments, mostly shadows of earlier work. All of the songs here have more of a mood of urgency than some of Tull's then-recent albums, and a few even have memorable melodies -- the title tune, "At Last, Forever" (which sounds like a Thick as a Brick outtake), "Rare and Precious Chain," "Dangerous Veils," and "Valley," which recall the best moments of 5/

Jethro Tull have molded their old british folk sound into a delectable middle eastern vibe, especially on its first half. The song 'Roots To Branches' starts powerfully with a beautiful soaring guitar with perceptible eastern vibes to it. The song is seductive and it generously sets the table with conviction.
